“For much of the world, ‘normal’ is gone,” according to Kaveh Madani, Director of the UN University Institute for Water, Environment and Health (UNU-INWEH). That “normal” historical baseline — water rights/shares, old allocation schemes, everything farmers and communities have relied upon for generations — is over. It’s gone.

Today (July 16, 2026), in NYC, the UNU-INWEH is hosting a side event “From Global Water Bankruptcy to Implementation: Regional Solutions and Opportunities to Accelerate Sustainable Development Goals.” The name itself makes clear these bureaucrats see a water crisis as a chance to advance their own agenda — and indeed, that no one will be “left behind” (excluded from their control):

Why is water such a fantastic opportunity to advance the SDGs? Few have answered this question as well as Mariana Mazzucato (co-chair of the Global Commission on the Economics of Water) at a 2022 WEF event:

“Water is something that people understand. You know, climate change is a bit abstract; some people understand it really well, some understand it a bit, some just don’t understand it. Water… every kid knows how important it is to have water: when you’re playing football and you’re thirsty, you need water. So there’s also something about really getting citizen engagement around this and really in some ways experimenting with this notion of the common good. Can we actually deliver this time in ways that we have failed miserably other times?”

Water, in other words, is their perfect testing ground: tangible, emotional, and universal.

Water rights have historically been tied to the land: rainwater capture, private wells, or at most local controls on surface water kept water sovereignty in our own hands. Now, however, as with food and energy, we are being told that the issue is too important—too global—to leave in our unqualified hands. The message is clear: we have gone bankrupt, it is our fault, and they are here to rescue us by centralizing control.

Tokenizing Water

The WEF estimates that the global need for cumulative total investment through 2040 in a “just transition to equitable water infrastructure” is €11.4 trillion. Panelists on their round tables don’t know where the money will come from (though they insist the cost of not improving governance is far higher). This is where the financial engineers step in.

According to a May, 2026 report from Goldman Sachs entitled, “Securing and Financing the Future of Water,” the way to finance this transition is by tokenizing water to create investment opportunities in this new infrastructure:

As in other markets, tokenization is also emerging as a promising approach to challenges facing water markets. Tokenization can be used both to solve challenging water market issues—for example, by injecting liquidity and turning rights into traceable tokens that track water use across market participants and at different jurisdictional layers—and water infrastructure financing challenges. Tokenized financing can deliver credits for companies that conserve or recycle water through connections to flow meters.

Goldman points at the UAE, who is testing a water-backed digital token that links verified physical water volumes to a tradable digital asset.

In fact, crypto providers like ChainLink have defined Water Tokens, promising that companies who use water could “purchase tokenized water credits [to] transparently offset their water usage … allowing companies to prove their ESG commitments to investors.”

Portugal’s leading wastewater management provider, Indaqua, is tokenizing wastewater volume on the Algorand blockchain, “enabling companies to offset their water footprint.”

If it sounds a lot like carbon allowances, ESG scores, and carbon markets — that’s because it is.

To tokenize and track every drop of water on Earth, however, they’d first need to figure out what is where now. And that’s what they’re working on now.

Water Mapping

Across the United States, local news reports have assured residents that there is no reason for alarm as helicopters appear overhead with giant antennas or survey equipment:

Notably, however, there has been no national news coverage of the fact that this is happening everywhere. From California’s Statewide Airborne Electromagnetic (AEM) Surveys Project, to Kansas Geological Survey’s mapping of the Ogallala aquifer, to groundwater surveys in Michigan, Missouri, Wyoming and Colorado, New Mexico and Texas, the story is the same: “Nothing to see here!”

“Groundwater is a vital resource for New Mexico’s communities, agriculture, and ecosystems, and unlocking its full potential requires reliable data. By mapping aquifers and establishing a long-term monitoring network…”

Yet, stepping back from the compartmentalization, it is clear that there is a comprehensive mapping being performed right now — across many different organizations, but clearly driven top-down — to identify every source of water.

Once they map out where the water is now and have markets to trade tokenized water, the final piece is real-time usage tracking.

Monitoring & Enforcement

Oracle Utilities is one of the leading platforms for ingesting and analyzing high-frequency meter data. Their Meter Data Management system is live at over 100 utilities worldwide, processing data from more than 115 million meters. Water metering has been a deliberate expansion area for over a decade.

Oracle has trained AI models on this usage data, affording utilities the ability to detect broken pipes or outdoor irrigation and support the kind of granular “transparent accounting” called for in the Global Water Bankruptcy framework.

What’s stunning about this infrastructure is that water use can be tracked (and limited) at a personal allowance level across sources. You may be allocated N gallons a week, whether pulled from a private spring or well or a municipal water supply.

I’ll cover Oracle more in my next post. For now, it is safe and accurate to say that the infrastructure for surveillance of water usage has been under development for decades.

Water Sovereignty

The pieces are coming together as we speak: a bankruptcy declared from the top, your water rights nullified, public buy-in tested through the language of “common good,” new markets ready to tokenize and trade every drop, active mapping of current water sources, and AI-driven metering infrastructure capable of enforcing limits across municipal and private sources alike.

The crisis rhetoric has been invoked because the system is nearly operational and needs only to be unveiled. But this is not a well-intentioned crisis response; it is the architecture for measurable, enforceable, financialized governance of a basic necessity. Water is being transformed from a resource tied to land and people into a centrally tracked, rationed, and tradable asset.

The only real question left is whether enough people will see the shift for what it is — and insist that water sovereignty must remain where it has always belonged: with the land and the people whose lives actually depend on it.

In 2005 the CEO of (WEF partner) Nestlé famously announced that water was not a human right.

Having announced their intentions, the technocrats set about crafting a crisis narrative to take control of this precious resource.

This year—not coincidentally coinciding with the UN/WEF announcements that we were entering a food crisis and must adopt genetically engineered crops—that crisis rhetoric was amped up to 11.

In a January 2026 report, the United Nations University Institute for Water, Environment and Health (UNU-INWEH) declared “Global Water Bankruptcy.” Far worse than a mere water crisis, “water bankruptcy” describes a persistent post-crisis state wherein long-term human withdrawals from surface and groundwater exceed inflows, causing “effectively irreversible degradation” of water capital.

The term “bankruptcy” itself telegraphs their intention to seize it all, framing society as insolvent and taking our water into receivership so that technocrats can step in control the resource.

The UNU-INWEH, naturally, was quite thrilled, calling the need for a form of global “bankruptcy management” governance an “opportunity that cannot be overlooked” [PDF, p6] They quite openly salivate at a chance to codify their temporary crisis measures into permanent technocratic oversight of this lasting condition. Specifically, they cite a need for:

  • Transparent [monitoring and] accounting of and enforceable limits on water use,

  • protection of “water-related natural capital,”

  • equity-focused transitions that protect vulnerable groups (smallholders, women, Indigenous communities, low-income populations),

  • and a rebalancing of demand, restructuring of rights, and reorienting of infrastructure, technology, finance, and trade.

Let’s look at each.

Every Last Drop

Though “transparent water accounting” is a key requirement set out by the report—centralized tracking of every last drop, explicitly described as integrating satellite observation and metering with AI modeling—yet nothing is said about who owns the data, or who defines “safe” levels of depletion. It is just understood that a surveillance infrastructure is needed for effective resource rationing.

The “enforceable limits” imply new layers of bureaucracy created to cap, permit, and restrict water use. Independent farmers, homesteaders, and rural communities are likely to be squeezed while corporate ag—and data centers—get exemptions or can purchase offsets.

“Protection of water-related natural capital” — which they defined as aquifers, wetlands, rivers, glaciers — justifies new restrictions on private land use. It charts a new approach for setting aside more land and water for the 30x30 formally adopted at COP15 in 2022, in which 30% of the land and water will be set aside for “rewilding.”

“Rebalancing demand, restructuring rights” is clearly explicitly calling to overhaul property rights and redraw the map of access to water resources. This is the core of the technocratic takeover: water moves from a local/sovereign resource to something tokenized and managed by unelected NGOs and supernational frameworks, aligning with the UN SDGs and decarbonization agenda.

You thought you had water rights on your farmland? You don’t want to give up your creek? Well, then, you’re a racist, getting in the way of “equity-focused transitions” to protect “vulnerable groups”…

… but the Data Centers?!

Why now? The report is quick to blame agriculture, overpopulation, and “human withdrawals.” It’s your fault. But it is stunningly silent on the behemoth demands of the technocrats’ data centers, which are of course needed to run the surveillance and limits on private citizens.

Lawrence Berkeley National Lab estimates that less than one third of data center owners in the US measure their water consumption. They simply don’t want to know. So much for transparent accounting! According to AIDataCenterMap.org’s 2026 AI Data Center Ecology Report by Hakeem Anwar, hyperscalers like Google are reporting water usage using estimates derived by proprietary black-box methods, precluding third-party verification.

The hypocrisy is absolutely stunning under the greenwashed veneer of social and environmental justice.

Bottom Line

This “Global Water Bankruptcy” is a hostile takeover of water by the technocrats using the same script they are running on food and energy: create scarcity, centralize control, and prioritize their own infrastructure. The new surveillance and limitations on water will be used to force farmers into using the “precision irrigation” and crops genetically engineered to be “climate resilient.”

Notably missing from the report are any actual, decentralized solutions. Rainwater harvesting for private use can be hugely impactful. Increasing the amount of organic matter in soil can dramatically improve water holding capacity, improving resilience of farms and even obviating the need for irrigation. If farm resilience was really a priority, as they claim, these regenerative methods would be incentivized — not a global water usage surveillance system that requires extremely thirsty data centers.

The true priority is control.

What Can Be Done?

  1. Spread the word — share this post on social media and farming/homesteading groups. The more people who understand the true agenda, the more difficult it is to implement.

  2. Understand and document water rights now — get formal documentation of your water rights now, before “bankruptcy management” frameworks restrict/obscure them.

  3. Build personal resilience — collecting rainfall from even a small rooftop can quickly fill a meaningful buffer for home or garden use. (Rain is also infused with nitrogen, great for plants, and has none of the dissolved solids or chemicals found in tap water..!)

  4. Get loud — demand answers as to why data centers get exemptions while families face new metering and limits.

  5. Support independent voices — Amplify researchers, farmers, and outlets exposing these agendas (like AIDataCenterMap.org). Help starve their propaganda of airtime, and ensure it doesn’t go unchallenged.

Reject the technocrats’ bid for control of our food and water. Sovereign ownership of these resources at the local level IS a human right, and we must defend it.

Jon was pounding the pavement as an investigative journalist before I was even born. He was a trailblazer, starting “NoMoreFakeNews.com” before “fake news” was a thing. His work on AIDS Inc (which you can read on archive.org) shone a light on the medical-industrial complex (and even Fauci), long before COVID. He was also exposing Monsanto and the corporate takeover of the food supply back in the 1990s, long before most people were even aware of GMOs.

Jon knew how to follow a lead, get the source data, and put out the word. He made every effort to educate long before YouTube or TikTok existed. His writing is prolific, and even at the age of 88 he was publishing almost daily.

But Jon’s investigative drive went deeper: he recognized that the real prison isn’t just the lies; it is the mechanistic, materialist worldview itself. He called people trapped within that failed ontology “Is People”:

“The Is People are dedicated with a fervor to insisting that this Continuum and this consensus reality are inviolable, are the end-all and be-all… They may cling to their belief as a result of religion or science, it doesn’t matter. Either way, they bow at the altar of Is.
… For them, imagination is at least a misdemeanor, if not a felony. It’s a blow to the Is of Is.”

… Eventually, the delusion gives birth to a dedication to what everyone else thinks and supposes and assumes and accepts. This is slavery.

]]><![CDATA[On 1776 and Tokenization]]>https://unshadowed.substack.com/p/on-1776-and-tokenizationhttps://unshadowed.substack.com/p/on-1776-and-tokenizationSat, 04 Jul 2026 18:16:52 GMTRather than a generic ‘Happy 4th’ post, I wanted to share what came up today while sitting with my boys discussing the Declaration of Independence and what was really happening in 1776. By then, Kings had gone from declaring themselves gods, to claiming only to be “ordained by God,” to just “the sovereign, so pay your taxes and don’t ask questions.”

Then this idea -- that all men are created equal -- informed a push back against distant, centralized control. Against inherited titles and royal bloodlines. They fought for independence and tried to build a better system where sovereignty rests with the individual, not the throne.

It worked...for a time. But centralized power re-emerged through central banks and fiat currency. After the early attempts via the Banks of the United States, the Fed was born in 1913. People still got to vote and feel free, but the power to create money once again sat with a small group. Control simply migrated to a new chokepoint.

We stand now at another inflection point, where the architecture of control is again shifting deeper. As people catch on to the debt-based monetary system (and it collapses under its own weight), a rush to tokenized assets is underway.

Larry Fink, CEO of BlackRock and Chair of the WEF, said just days ago:

“We’re not spending enough time talking about how quickly we’re going to tokenize every financial asset and the opportunity. We’re going to have a digital wallet and moving ETFs and other things to a digital wallet. And I think that’s going to happen worldwide very rapidly ... It will be changing the technology around the plumbing of finance.”

“Upgrade!” they call it. Put every real-world asset (RWA) on digital rails. “Half the world already has a digital wallet on their phone,” they wave their hands, muttering about “progress” and “unlocking liquidity” through their plumbing upgrade. They speak to the efficiency of real-time settlement and fractional ownership. But what remains unsaid is that as they move reality itself onto this new digital substrate, control is once again re-centralized at a deeper level. The platform becomes the new sovereign. The charts displaying growth of tokenized RWAs -- the ones Larry Fink says we should accelerate -- are fundamentally progress bars for the enslavement of humanity. Of course Larry Fink, from his position, wants to accelerate towards technofeudalism. Those who control the tokens -- when they expire, where they can be redeemed, and who is allowed to do so -- become the controllers of reality. These RWAs are far more encompassing than currency: grains, precious metals, farmland, art, even forests and nature itself all are rapidly being tokenized. You can own a token for almost anything … as long as you play by their rules:

It’s the same game, just a fresh abstraction layer -- and a global one:

Kings → Sovereign State → Central Bank → Tokenized Platform

Power doesn’t disappear, it just migrates deeper. The founding fathers understood that tendency. That’s why they obsessed over checks and balances and stressed the importance of an informed population (”A republic if you can keep it!”). Those firewalls worked for a time. They also demonstrated that decentralization is the answer to this tendency.

The same is true 250 years later, on this July 4th: build parallel systems. Hold real world assets, currency, food, energy, community outside the system whenever possible. And, critically, gain and share an understanding of these new chokepoints, both to avoid capture, and to educate others and the next generation.

The stakes are certainly different this time. When reality is so thoroughly controlled and surveilled, it takes more than a declaration of independence (and certainly misguided attempts at armed revolution would fail and only further empower the system).

This time, an ontological re-alignment is needed. Their attempt to gain control is so complete, so perfect, that it becomes the ultimate reminder: reality is not mechanistic, not something to be tracked, measured, and controlled. It is a participative realm, created and sustained by God, the true Sovereign. Aligning with Him and remembering this truth is how we win. And their ontological failure is precisely why their war on creation will ultimately fail.

Thanks to RFK Jr bringing on Joel Salatin as a special advisor, we’re finally turning this ship around, moving away from industrial mass monoculture, and ditching the toxic Big Ag chemicals...right?

... as usual, there’s more to the story. This is a classic bait-and-switch. A perversion of language right up there with bills named like the “Patriot Act.”

Let’s take a deeper look.

On June 25, 2026, three major developments happened that, in concert, paint a clear picture of where our food system is heading:

  1. Trump signed the “Advancing Regenerative Agriculture” Executive Order which, though weak on details, promises to promote “regenerative” methods and focus on soil health. It explicitly promotes “precision agriculture technologies” and public-private partnerships to expand capacity.

  2. The USDA released a new “Regenerative Feedstock Rule”, declaring that farmers who use “regenerative” methods can qualify for lower carbon intensity scores on their products to improve access to biofuel markets.

  3. The US Supreme Court sided with Bayer/Monsanto, blocking thousands of lawsuits against RoundUp, but also—and much more significantly—setting the dangerous precedent that the EPA’s labelling requirements supersede state-level failure-to-warn claims.

Add in the February 18, 2026 EO, “Promoting the National Defense by Ensuring an Adequate Supply of Elemental Phosphorus and Glyphosate-based Herbicide,” and a full, coherent architecture comes into view: protect the existing chemical-based model while layering on a new technocratic control system with a fresh coat of paint for marketing.

The Hijacking of Language

The Advancing Regenerative Agriculture EO invokes verbiage familiar to proponents of real regenerative farming. It feels good. It smells nice. It explicitly promotes “precision agriculture technologies” and public-private partnerships. Implementation details are lacking, but upon a cursory glance, one would come away believing it is well-intended, as it speaks to soil health, lower input costs, maintained yields, profitability, and “farm resilience.”

One would be wrong.

These terms are not defined in the EO. Fortunately, the World Economic Forum long ago set about the task of defining — indeed, re-defining — them. In WEF’s Oct 11, 2022 article, “What is regenerative agriculture?”, we read that regenerative methods involve minimizing the ploughing of soil (no-till), in order to sequester CO2 in the soil, reducing emissions from ag, and making more efficient use of water (smart irrigation). It is also said that the loss of productive soil is rapidly becoming a crisis.

By 2024, the WEF’s rhetoric had intensified. Their “How regenerative agriculture can make climate solutions more resilient” (Nov 18, 2024) article raised the stakes:

The global food system is at a critical juncture, contributing to and suffering from the impacts of climate change. […] Soils are being depleted at an alarming rate.

The UN warns that, unchecked, 90% of the world’s soils could be degraded by 2050, further destabilizing food systems as well as increasing poverty and hunger. To reverse this, we must urgently finance a just transition that restores soil health, captures carbon and strengthens water and climate resilience.

Having worked for years to hijack these terms, the FAO & WEF have now deployed them in their policy recommendations for navigating the “looming food crisis” — and now we see them mirrored in the EO’s language:

  • public-private partnerships

  • precision agriculture

  • “smart” approaches to irrigation and inputs

  • climate resilience

In short, the flowery sounding EO paves the way for the technocratic takeover of food I’ve been describing: handcuffing producers with Big Ag/NGO-defined metrics for “soil health” that will necessitate the use of gene-edited crops and synthetic soil microbes, scored by Big Tech/AI-powered, centralized monitoring. It is a better branded American flavor of the EU’s “digitalization of agriculture”, and has nothing to do with permaculture or holistic/regen methods as you and I know and practice them.

Make … Biofuels Healthy Again?

The EO mentions MAHA, yet the flagship action taken the same day by the USDA, the Regenerative Feedstock Rule, funnels those “regenerative” results explicitly into biofuels. From the USDA’s own press release:

The Regenerative Feedstock Rule establishes a framework to connect regenerative agriculture practices to new markets within the biofuel supply chain for corn, soybeans, sorghum, and spring canola.

Farmers using prescribed methods are rewarded with lower “carbon intensity scores” via the FD-CIC calculator to chase 45Z tax credits. This is carbon-market infrastructure wearing a regenerative mask, not a program to grow healthier food for American tables.

It’s not just that the language in the EO is isomorphic to the WEF/UN recommendations, then. “Watch what they do, not what they say.” And what they are doing is taking over food production while screaming about a food crisis, and giving lip service to climate resilience and soil health.

Also on that very same day, the Supreme Court handed Bayer/Monsanto a major win, deciding that EPA labels preempt state failure-to-warn lawsuits.

This is much bigger than glyphosate. It carves out liability immunity at a federal level for not just existing pesticides, but the gene-edited crops, biologicals, and synthetic microbes. These have been rapidly deployed this year (as 70% of US farmers were unable to source urea), and are heralded, of course, as climate-resilient smart inputs.

This is a federal-level version of the Pesticide Liability Shield legislation, literally drafted by Bayer itself and inserted into states’ farm bills. It happened within a week of the EU deregulating many gene-edited crops, prompting AgTech CEOs to openly celebrate that their new “precision” and “regenerative” CRISPR-engineered frankenfoods can be slipped into Europe’s food supply (including organic) without even a label.

The Big Picture

At the end of the day, what happened on June 25th is not about soil health or healthier food for kids. It is a managed transition, protecting the old chemical model while locking farmers into approved inputs, metrics, and scoring, with a “regenerative” branding. The hijacked language, the EO, the USDA rule, the Supreme Court ruling, and the UN/WEF’s crisis narrative all point the same direction.

Grow your own food. Preserve real regenerative techniques — the ones rooted in biodiversity, compost, and sovereignty, not carbon scores and centralization. Teach them to your children.

This is bigger than policy. It is, in fact, bigger than food. Stripping humanity of our ability to feed ourselves and adulterating the genetics of our soil and crops are fundamental parts of the ongoing war on creation by those who believe reality is purely mechanistic and theirs to control. It will play out until humanity collectively remembers: this realm is participatory. We must align with God, not their control grid.

It may take us some time to remember that. Until then, don’t let them hijack the language, spread the word, and keep your hands in the real soil, my friends.

UPDATE (July 3, 2026): AgTech companies like Pivot Bio, maker of gene-edited microbes, are openly celebrating the Regen Ag EO. From their press release:

"By recognizing biological fertilizers and other advanced nitrogen management tools as creditable low-carbon practices, the USDA has sent a clear message that innovation that genuinely reduces emissions and improves farm economics will be valued and rewarded. That is exactly the right policy direction.”
